I thought the Roe one was excellent, even if it did take me a few seconds to work out. Of course, I do think that humour is at its best when intelligent, so having to think doesn’t bother me. It makes it funnier when I do get it.
This whole “book blurb” thing really deserves a second look since it comes up often enough on this site. Why is it that you (Mr. Dubner) think your blurbs are the only truly honest ones? Would you tell us if you blurbed a book that you didn’t like?
Also, they actually lose probably 10% of credit card tips because they can’t underreport them on their taxes.
