What’s Better: Stocks, Bonds, or Lobbyists?

Looking for a 22,000 percent return on your investment? Hire a lobbyist, send her to Washington on your behalf, and watch the money roll in. A recent study out of the University of Kansas found that every $1 spent by firms lobbying Congress for a single tax break in 2004 brought in $220 in tax savings. These are all very good comments. I think that lobbyists should be a branch of government since they run things behind the scenes. Then we could have more transparency into what happens before its inflicted on us. We could weigh the allowances between gun and cigarette lobbies and compare them to Drug lobbies and health lobbies. Why do they get to have all the control over elected officials? Some folks don’t think guns ,cigarettes and overpriced drugs are good but hey , who are they? We just elected the officials , we don’t work in the engine room, we are just passengers on that ship with lobbyists in the control room . Look at Brown and Root for instance they are literally a branch of government without the designation. When we invade a country they always get the cleanup job without any competitive bidding. Why? because they hire retired generals and politicians who with their Rolodex don’t really have to listen to the American Public, they are the rule . Like Nixon said in the David Frost interviews “when you’re the president, its not illegal”. So lets shine a light on all those lobbyists and good ole boy networks and let the chips fall where they may after we approve them as a branch of government. It could only serve to better our understanding of a screwed up system …Right? Let me know what you think……
