Streetfilms.com and the Tri-State Transportation Campaign make a case for improving the Hudson River bus crossings connecting New Jersey and Manhattan using a combination of animation and statistics, such as: the number of bus riders who enter Manhattan via the Holland and Lincoln tunnels and the George Washington Bridge every weekday is equivalent to the population of Cincinnati. Looks like other stretches of road might need films as well. [%comments]
Better Bus Rides, Please

Good animation, and poignant, but I’m not sure their “wear and tear” claim is true. Do any road experts know if one bus causes more wear and tear on a road than all the cars it replaces? I think it does.
I used to be a pavement expert in my younger days… A truck or bus does tremendously more damage than a car, on the order of 100′s of times more damage, so one bus definitely consumes more of the life of the pavement than an equivalent number of cars and solo drivers.
