Vote Now for 2010 Name of the Year

Voting for the 2010 Name of the Year contest has begun. The 2009 winner, Barkevious Mingo, will be hard to top, but there are some good choices this year — Banana Yaya, Lolita Respectnothing, and Sequoyah Stonecipher, to name a few.[%comments]

Barkevious doesn’t even have the best name in his immediate family. I would have voted for Hughtavious Mingo.

I would have then felt bad for Hugh Mingo that his younger brother is destined for greater things…. (yes, it would appear that I’ve already forgotten lessons from the original book)

LaceDarius Dunn, guard for the Michigan State men’s basketball team. For that matter, the whole team: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2010/04/02/AR2010040204145_2.html?hpid=features1&hpv=national

Also, found this one just yesterday– Formica Dinette. But I can’t decide if this is a sort of stage name.

I’m one of the NOTY organizers. Thanks, as always, for the name love.

    3. LaceDarius (who plays for Baylor, not MSU) was nominated in 2009.
