Love in Reverse

Have an ex that won’t go away? If you live in Japan, you can call on a wakaresase-ya or?”splitter-upper“: “The function of the?wakaresase-ya is the direct opposite of a dating agency: with great ingenuity, and the right fee, they will prise apart human relationships.” For example, these professionals will trick a spouse or undesirable future daughter-in-law into committing an affair, and provide photographic evidence of the indiscretion. “We produce a drama at the request of our clients,” says Osamu Tomiya, a splitter-upper. “We write the script and put on the play. For a member of my staff, it could take a year to make someone fall in love. If it’s me, I can do it in a day. In this industry, I’m a god.” (HT: Marginal Revolution)[%comments]

This is an argument for No-Fault Divorce.

Interestingly the Muslim world has an oral divorce. The man says “I Divorce You.” three times in the prescence of a male witness and it is legal. No paperwork required. Deaf witnesses are best.

It is so easy, marriages are performed in whorehouses with a divorce to follow in less than an hour–the honeymoon last longer than the marrital state. And the gentleman keeps his virtuosity. We could learn a thing or two.

Wasn’t this the plot of some awful romantic comedy not too long ago? If not, it should be…

Why do I smell a whiff of testerone in this posting?

Why is the Japanese WOMAN tricked into a relationship? ….because a GUY cheating on a spouse is just business as usual in most of the world.

In the Muslim world why can’t the WOMAN use the same rules to divorce her cheating husband?

I loved Maureen Dowd’s admission that she is a member of a church that subjugates women, ruled by an “inbred and wealthy men’s club cloistered behind walls and disdaining modernity. …How could such spirited women, smart and successful on every other level, acquiesce in their own subordination?”

“…an autocratic society that repressed women and ignored their progress in the secular world.”

” ….men in dresses allowed our religious kingdom to decay and to cling to outdated misogynistic rituals, blind to the benefits of welcoming women’s brains, talents and hearts into their ancient fraternity.”

    You go girl!

  5. Steve Simon, P.Mean Consulting says:

I agree about the lack of ethics. There is also the possibility that some of the parties involved (the wakaresase-ya or the person paying the wakaresase-ya) could get in legal trouble. It sure smells like fraud to me.

I think the poster “Eric” is actually “Erica.” The article is about a business that splits couples up at their clients’ behest. Only a raging feminist would turn this into a gender issue.

In the Muslim world, woman are given total rights to a divorce just like a man, i have given my wife the right to do so in my contract (Nikah as it is called). Its just that some people are unaware of these legal obstacles which is the fault of the ignorant governments and law and order situation. Moreover, it is illegal in Islam to give a divorce when emotional, there is a stated time frame which is given to a man when he says “i divorce you” and vice versa, so please get your facts straight. What most people here are are aberrations from the proper modus operandi !
