FREAK Shots: One-Stop Shopping for Aggressive Motorists

Reader Tim Long sent in this photo taken in Harrisburg, North Carolina, the latest installment in our collection of odd pairs. Alas, the strange bedfellows didn’t work out: Long tells us that the insurance office has since moved and Aggressive Motoring has closed up shop. (Remember to send your own FREAK Shots here.)

    My first thought on seeing this was that “Dan Nied” makes me think of denied. Terrible name for an insurance salesman.

    What a horrible name for an insurance agent!

    I don’t have a picture… I kept intending to take one but have since moved away. In Lincoln, Nebraska a bait shop and a sushi bar share a window in a strip shopping center. Every time I saw that I said… “I always suspected”.

    When I first saw the insurance agent’s name, I read it as ‘Nan Died’!

    Maybe I should go and get my eyes checked.

    @Andy
    I saw the same as well: “Nan Died”. Perhaps Mr. Nied should reconsider the layout of his future signage.

    Hopefully he is also careful to avoid:

    D. Nied
    Insurance for Auto, Home, Life
    (Sorry, Pal!)

    I’m sure many others suspect it’s pronounced nyed…
