iPhone Users Have More Sex

As widely reported in the press recently, analysis done by the online dating site OKCupid finds that iPhone users are more sexually active than those who have Blackberrys or Androids.

The implications of this research, at least for me personally, are quite clear.

I’ve been wanting to get an iPhone for some time, but still don’t have one. The reason, I now understand, is that I?don’t have enough sex. I will have to talk to my wife about remedying this immediately.

With comments like this not only won’t you have ANY sex but you made have to find a new spouse.

This is a modern version of a very old joke:

Q.: What’s the best way to get a woman to have sex with you?

    A.: Show her your iPhone.

Q.: What’s the best way to get the woman to stop having sex with you?

    A.: Marry her!

Suggest you come home tonight with either lots of flowers or a big box of chocolates.

    Otherwise the couch awaits you.

Is that what the Vibrate Mode is for?

The iPhone is young, sexy, superficial and fashionable. The average iPhone user is under 30 yo and a fashion fop. And young people tend to be more licentious, flirty, promiscuous, and have more sex with more partners than let’s say the average 70 yo married man.

So perhaps it is a preselection of iPhone population rather than a cause-and-efffect.

I do not think that individuals having more sex causes them to get an iPhone. I think perhaps, that those individuals whose personalities and preferences tend to cause them to prefer an iPhone over another smartphone, are the same characteristics that make them more likely to have a greater number of sexual partners. I do not think there is an exact causality in either direction here, bun an underlying trait that demonstrates a correlation.
Although, hey, use the research in whatever way aids your cause!

iPhone users seemed to have more sexual **partners** – it didn’t say that they had more sex. The study implies something about being more likely to move from partner to partner.

Since the “study” defines “more sex” as the number of different partners rather than absolute frequency or total number of couplings, you will have to ask your wife to open your marriage if you want that iPhone.

Should read: “iPhone Users Self Report Having More Sex”

I don’t think that lying on a dating site is out of the question.

The finding is not that iPhone users have sex more often. It is that they have a higher number of sexual partners. I don’t see how talking to your wife will help you boost the number of your partners, but maybe I’m not being imaginative enough.
